Where to eat

The following is a list of our favorite restaurants and pizzerias in Pila and in Aosta Valley in general.

Elegant restaurants with traditional local cuisine

• La Clusaz (Grand Saint Bernard Valley), Tel. 0165 56075. In our opinion, this is the best restaurant in Aosta Valley, around 10 km from Aosta along the road that leads to the Grand Saint Bernard pass/tunnel. It is recommended to make a reservation a few days in advance.
• Hotel Suisse (Saint Rhemy, Grand Saint Bernard Valley), Tel. 0165 780906. Excellent restaurant in the cute and quaint village of Saint Rhémy, just a couple of kilometers from the Grand Saint Bernard pass. It is recommended to make a reservation in advance.

Pizzerie

• Avalon (Jovençan), Tel. 0165 250300. Excellent pizzeria along the road that leads from Gressan (below Pila) to Aymavilles. It is recommended to make a reservation, even during the weekdays.
• Pizzeria du Chateau (Aymavilles), Tel. 0165 923038. Just a few hundred meters from the Aymavilles castle.
• Rosso Pomodoro (Aosta), Tel. 0165 267141

In the city of Aosta

• Ristorante Pretoria Just near the Porta Pretoria (Roman gates to the city), Good restaurant with local specialities.
• Les Gourmets (Via Festaz). Restaurant – Pizzeria located in the center of Aosta, specializing in seafood.
• Il Bataclan (Piazza Arco d'Augusto). Excellent restaurant-pizzeria. Spendid internal garden.

Along the ski trails of Pila

• Meublé della Nouva. One of the historical locales in Pila, with a traditional and cozy atmosphere and an essential stop after a day of skiing. The homemade panini and tarts are excellent. Don’t miss the Italian style hot chocolate with whipped cream, the "bombardino" and also “ la coppa dell’amicizia”, a local tradition.

In Pila

• Brasserie du Grimod. Situated at the small center square in Pila, an excellent pizzeria and brasserie with a play area dedicated to children.
• Hotel Chacaril. Nice hotel with an excellent cuisine. Beautiful garden outdoors where you can sun bath.

Specialty/traditional cuisine of Aosta Valley
